Vayama Problem

Hello, I just read this old entry a while ago, but for me it was too late. I booked a flight with vayama yesterday. The total was a little bit over my credit card limit, so I send them an e-mail to them right away, that I called my credit card company that they should [...]

Letters of Rec

I am currently applying to a variety of programs which require letters of recommendation: Teach For America, Peace Corps, and Fulbright Scholar Program.  Do you think it would be tacky if I submitted letters from GSI’s.  I would rather not use the professors I have in mind, because I am going to be asking them for [...]

Dropping —> Auditing

Hi All, I’m taking a course which I enjoy, but I simply cannot keep up with the papers. So I’m wondering: Can I drop a course but still attend lectures (officially)? Would I be able to audit it at this point? And how does one go about registering to audit a course anyhow? Thanks!

Long live the Hammer!

They get this and we get what? Freeze in place for 3 mins :(.

uwangel and browsers

For anyone taking courses on uw-angel and using Google Chrome, assignment submissions fail silently – that is, uw-angel will act like the submission went alright but nothing actually gets submitted. Luckily for myself, I double-checked the submission and was surprised to see an empty submission. Unluckily for myself, the number of submissions for my course [...]

Sta Travel

Has anyone ever travelled with Sta Travel? (More specifically if possible – their Indochina Discovery trip?) Later this year I will have just over a month to visit Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam and though I know it’s entirely possible to do it ‘on a shoestring’ and to your own design, I’m young, female and [...]

School Stress

Taken from here. A recent study revealed that 67 percent of graduate students at the University of California at Berkeley had “felt hopeless at least one in the last year,” while 54 percent felt “so depressed they had a hard time functioning” and 10 percent had considered suicide. Having done both undergrad and graduate work [...]

Some Courseload avdice?

So I’m still not sure whether to take Mind or Power for Sosc next year. My RA said I’d be better off taking social theory although I’m aware that she’s not scientifically inclined. I’m not a science major by any means but I enjoy bio and astro as well as philosophy. At the same time [...]

Mor Orlando transportation questions

Hey everyone. A few months back, I had asked for some help in knowing what’s around the Rosen centre hotel in Orlando. Well it’s getting close to crunch time, and I have little idea how I’ll be getting around. There’s a massive blind people convention, which I’m going too. They already gave us a few [...]

Safety in San Francisco

Hey guys, I am a California native, but I have spent most of my time in Southern California. There, I know not to walk at night alone in LA, just as a general rule. I also know which areas to avoid and I’ve never had a problem there. I’m going to SF soon for a [...]
