British masters?

Hello people! I’m curious about the general opinion on the one-year masters degree (taught/research) in English from the UK. Has anyone done it? What are the prospects?

It seems a lucrative option to wrap up M. A. in one year, but these are all the negatives I’ve heard about it till now:

i) A one-year M. A. is not considered valid in India (where I’m from, and where the standard M. A. duration is 2 years), and therefore you’re not allowed to do an M. Phil or Ph. D. after it or any job that requires an M. A.
Any M. Phil. or Ph. D. you do after such an M. A. (from the UK or anywhere else such an M. A. would be acceptable for further studies) is also apparently considered invalid, so you may continue studying for years and years afterwards and still not be treated more highly (for official purposes, of course) than a graduate in India.

ii) The British one-year M. A. is especially created for foreign students, and that no one who’s done a Bachelors’ from anywhere in the UK does or requires to do it.

iii) It is a better option to enrol for a second B. A. than an one-year M. A. And that a second B. A. gets done in two years and one can directly move on to research (M. Phil I think, not sure if Ph. D. as well) from it, reinforcing the point made in (ii), that is the one-year M. A. is entirely useless.

Any thought, experience, advice that I can use?

Thank you! :)
